Friday afternoon we also drove to Tombstone. The weather was supposed to be rainy on Saturday, so we decided we better get there today.
Upon arriving in Tombstone the first thing we saw was....
We are not sure what to expect once we get inside. Luckily it was free to tour this graveyard.
This pile of rocks is supposed to be 4 graves of some of the Clantons and McLaurys from the gunfight at the OK Corral.
The above picture and the following 5 pictures are of some of the more interesting tombstones.
OOPS! This one was hanged by mistake. LOL
Dusty was checking into finding a shootout. We thought there was supposed to be one on the main street. Nope that is not the case. And we just missed the last shootout show.
This is one of the stage coaches offering rides. We opted out.
The OK Corral. The doors were closed so we were not sure if they were ever open.
This guy was roaming the streets. We were impressed with the tracks on his wheelchair.
Lots of people dressed the part. This cowboy posed for Tic.
This looney was dancing across the street from us. He was having fun!
Dusty and the wooden Indian Chief.
Here is another stage coach. The driver is trying to convince some people to take a ride.
The mercantile is actually open and the top of is actually a hotel. We got distracted and did not ever go in.
Here is a view of Main Street in Tombstone. All the fronts are made to look like the era; however, the stores are open for business.
This is the current fire station.
This is the refurbished court house. It has been turned into a museum.
The hanging gallows were in the courtyard just outside the courthouse.
This was the law library inside the courthouse.
This is the original court room. Parts are refurbished and parts are the original from the 1800s.
It was fun visiting Tombstone. It was 4pm and we decided it was time to head back.
