We arrived at Cypress Campground Friday May 9th. May 9th - 18th is Bike Week which is when the Harley riders get together here in Myrtle Beach. We have many Harley's around us.
The spaces are a nice distance apart. This is a head on picture of our spot. Most spots have concrete pads with full hook ups. Some are more level than others. We had to change spots because we could not get level even with 3 4x4 blocks under the front. We are level easy at this spot. We are very close to the intercoastal waterway.
There is a small roped off area to swim in the intercoastal waterway. There are several piers to walk out on. Boats are continually moving up and down the waterway. There is also a swing bridge a short ways down river.
View back to campground from one of the piers. You can see kayaks that can be rented also.
View from another of the piers as a boat goes by.
Here are some pretty houses on the opposite side of the waterway.
This is the swing bridge. It rotates to the right side of the river to let taller boats pass thru. The bridge is a fairly major street in the area also.
There is also this 2 acre pond on the premises. We hiked around it. It was a pretty walk.
As we were walking around the campground people were looking at raccoons in this tree. There were 3 of them. By the time I got the camera ready I only got one of them.
These bushes with flowers in full bloom are everywhere in the campground. The fragrance is strong and much like a honeysuckle smell. We have not found anyone that can tell us what this bush is. Does anyone looking at this know?
We are here for Mother's Day, so my present from my son Jason, is spending time with me for the afternoon on Saturday. We spent part of the afternoon shooting. Here is our selfie.
Our daughter Jessica & her family sent me a beautiful guardian angel necklace. I added my cross to that necklace. The necklace came with a really sweet note: "...We hope this angel watches over you in all your travels." That means a lot to me.
Tic took me shopping today, Sunday, I got a new pair of walking shoes and a pair of shorts. Tic is cooking Red Snapper, sweet yams and salad for dinner and we will share a small bottle of blackberry cider we purchased at the Bellamy farms.
For my first Mother's Day on the road, it has been very special.
