Florence, AZ February, 2017

February, 2017

When we picked up the alternator, the man told us the alternator burned itself up probably due to the fact that the chassis batteries were either dead or very weak.  After we got home we checked the batteries.  It appeared that both the chassis and house batteries for the coach needed to be replaced. Ugh, 6 new batteries.
Well we ended up with lots of electrical problems.  We called for help and all the RV repair men were too busy to come by.  Tic tested, researched, tested more and researched more and more.  Tic replaced several fuses, 2 switches and a few other parts.  Tic fixed all the problems himself.  I'm so very proud of him! I did not take any pictures of this whole 6 week process.

Below are a few pictures Tic took during the month of February.

One evening there was a full moon hiding in the clouds.

Tic saw this jet making trails in the sky during sunset.  See one of the trails is pinkish.

More beautiful sunsets during February.

This hawk has landed on the internet antenna at the back of our lot. We see hawks of this kinds around frequently

Jeep Tour 02-09-17 Copper Creek Canyon

Thursday, 02-09-17

Tic got the alternator removed and taken in for repair.  We decided to go ahead and go on the Jeep ride today.  It is a beautifully sunny day.

18 Jeeps are going today.  We were jeep #10.

We had beautiful views along the way.

This hawk was at the top of a saguaro cactus we drove by.  Tic got a great picture.

The clouds were so wispy today.  It made for beautiful skies!

We drove up and down through these mountains.  Above is where we took a break before lunch.

This is the back of the line of Jeeps at the break spot.

Looking through the cactus, can you see the road we are taking?

Here we are going down towards a turquoise mine.

Here is an entrance to a mine near the turquoise mine.  We were told this was a gold mine.

Here we are on the way out of the canyon.

Here you can see one of the mines we passed.  Also look at all the roads.  I'm glad we are with people that know where they are going.  It has been a fun day!

Quartzsite, AZ

Tuesday, Jan 17-21, 2017

We joined our fellow Beaver Motorcoach owners in Quartzsite, AZ.

This was the host where everyone had to sign in for camping in the BLM land.  Everyone is allowed to stay 2 weeks no charge; however, everyone boondocks.  That means no electricity, water or sewer hookups.

There were about 60 motorcoaches here.  This is looking down one of the 3 rows of coaches.

This is looking down another row of coaches.

We are looking at the gathering area.  We shared breakfast and dinner together everyday  Most days were sunny and beautiful, even is it was jacket weather.

On Thursday it happened to be cloudy and windy.  We also had Mac The Fire Guy give us a seminar on fire safety in our RVs.  It was very interesting!

Every night we had campfires. Tic got a couple of good movies of the fire.  We enjoyed our stay in the desert.

We headed back to Florence, AZ on Sunday.  We were only 15-20 miles out of town when we started having trouble with the coach.  We pulled off the highway into a truck stop.  Tic called and spoke to some of the Beaver people still at Quartzsite.  After Tic described the problems, they were able to tell him that our alternator died.  They also told Tic how to jump the house and chassis batteries so we could get home.
Easy temporary fix and we made it home without any other problems.  More to follow.

Jeeping Excursion 01-12-17

Thursday, Jan 12, 2017

A group of 13 Jeeps from Desert Gardens went on an excursion today.  It was a gorgeous day, bright and sunny.

Wow,I'm extremely behind on my blogging.  Today is March 24th and I'm just starting to catch up on my blogging.  It has been so long since this trip that I cannot remember where this trip was. I drove and do remember crossing a river.  See below.

Some interesting rock formations along our drive.

This is the first man to cross the river.  Tic said I did well.  I was proud of myself.

It was a beautiful day and a fun excursion!
