We allowed a day for the snowy weather to pass so we could travel home without any issues. When we left Los Alamos at 8am it was 21F which was ten degrees warmer than the day before.
By the time we got to Albuquerque it was a whopping 32F. We were surprised to see a hot air balloon flying. As you can tell it is a beautifully clear day.
This is the view as we head West on I-40 towards
our exit near Grants, NM.
A beautiful drive through the Malpais or lava
badlands.
We saw a large herd of Antelope scattered across
the mesa. We stopped for a photo, but as you can tell, they were not
sociable.
And at last, this adventure ends with us back at
our Winter home just as the sun is setting. It is six PM and 72
degrees. My kind of Winter!
Arizona sunsets are so beautiful!! We are glad to be home after being gone for 2 weeks.
