Los Alamos, NM

October 15 - 25, 2017

We had so much fun playing with our grandson and getting to spend time with our daughter and son-in-law.

Rux loves to read books AND wear Nana's boots.

Our beautiful daughter and precious Rux!

This was our prettiest sunrise during our stay.

The following 5 pictures Tic took showing the beautiful fall colors in this area.

We are so blessed to be here at the perfect time to catch the changing colors.

Fun times in the backyard also.  We did not even need to go to the park.

Rux in Nana's house slippers.

Rux's favorite toy is a ball.  He has all types of balls and can say ball very clearly. Such a precious boy.  We left this morning and Jessica sent me this picture.  Going to miss all the fun times we had!

McCalls Pumpkin Patch, Moriarity, NM

Saturday, October 14, 2017

Today I'm going with Jessica and Rux to the McCalls Pumpkin Patch.  I'm looking forward to a fun day with our daughter and grandson!

Crawling in and out of tractor tires is fun!

We rode the train around the grounds.

We watched pig races.  The pigs went by so fast I missed getting them in the picture. The little boy next to Rux is Max.

Here we are taking a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. The little boy next to Rux is Max again. He and his parents met us at McCalls.

I can't believe I didn't get pictures of the pumpkins we got, but I didn't . Oh well.

By the time we left McCalls, it was dinner time, so here we are at Denny's. These 2 boys had a blast playing together today.  It was so much fun watching these 2 play together today. It was a wonderfully blessed day!

2017 Albuquerque Balloon Festival.

Saturday, October 14, 2017

The balloon festival is going on now, so this morning we watched the mass ascension on TV. We got really great views on TV, better than we would see at the festival in person.

I'm just going to input the best of the pictures Tic took.

This Wells Fargo special shape is the largest of all the balloons attending this festival.

They said they had 9 out of 10 days of perfect weather days this year at the balloon festival!  This day was definitely an example of great weather for a mass ascension.

First Couple of Days With Our Grandson, Rux

October 12 & 13, 2017

We have the pleasure of taking care of our grandson, Rux, Monday through Friday, while our daughter works.  We are excited to get to spend so much quality time with him. He is now 21 months old and it has been 6 months since we have seen him and he has changed so much, to say the least.

We took him to the Rocket Park which is close to his house 2 days in a row.
We took the dog, Maggie, also.  Rux decided he wanted to walk Maggie.  Too Cute!!!

The remaining pictures are of the fun activities we did at the park.

His Mom and Dad taught him to wear a hat and sunglasses at a very early age. So every time we went outside he wore one of his ball caps and his sunglasses. My heart was pounding with excitement to be able to enjoy him!

We will be here only 2 weeks, so I plan to relish in every moment we get to spend with him.

Red Rock State Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Oct 10, 2017

Actually, the park is located at Church Rock, NM, but Gallup is only six miles West  of the park.

This RV park is a NM State park, run by the city of Gallup.  It offers 30/50 amp, water at each site and a dump station.  You pull in, pick a spot and later a city employee will come by and collect $22.00 for a nightly stay.  The cost used to be $20.00, but they have added free wifi, which worked very well for us.

It is easy to see why it is called Red Rock Park.
There is a short hiking trail to "Church Rock", so we decided to take it for a way, just for some exercise.
We evidently disturbed this coyote, and he headed for cover.  He/she looked to be in fine condition.

I think these are called hoodoos, but they are shaped differently than the hoodoos we saw in Utah.

 And, ..... Church Rock!
Now, a good photographer knows you normally would not take a shot towards the sun, but it does show the ridges with more depth.

 Close-up of the Church.
Look at the many layers in this rock wall.  Wow!
Fascinating, how these little wildflowers manage to survive in such a harsh climate.

After our walk, we drove around within the park.  There is a free museum we discovered, but we were there after hours.
Pots like this one are found all around on the park grounds.

In the morning we leave for Los Alamos, NM.
