Sunset at Desert Gardens

Thursday, April 14, 2016

Today is our last full day with our friends, Dave & Roxy.  We plan to spend it at our new winter home in Desert Gardens, Florence, AZ.

In case you haven't seen before, this is our site at our new winter home in Desert Gardens RV Co-op.

When we left the park to go stay with Dave & Roxy in Scottsdale, there was a quail hen sitting on 19(we were told) eggs.  We decided we needed to check on the status a week later.

Inside this purple prickly pear cactus is where she had her nest.

This is her sitting on her eggs before we left for Scottsdale.

You can see some of the eggs have hatched.  We guess she must be sitting on more eggs that have not hatched.

In this pictures more eggs have been pushed out.  However look closely at the top middle and you can see some baby chicks. Cool!

The purple prickly pear was blooming also.  Looks like many more flowers to come.

We spent most of the day just goofing off.  Close to sunset time, we took off for a walk on the trails on the outer edges of the RV park.
The sun is starting to set.
The clouds and jet streams really add to the beauty!

We found this armadillo along the trail.  I guess someone here must be from Texas and missed armadillos.  Ha Ha

The saguaro have lots of arms around here.  I was told that means more moisture.

Dusty, Roxy and David are checking something out???  Maybe some quail or rabbit.

The saguaro looks like it is hugging itself.

The gang is returning.

The sunsets here are so beautiful!

This picture is my favorite one for this evening.

The sun is so low the clouds in the east are now pink.

A beautiful evening.  Glad we could send our friends off with such a beautiful sunset.
