Leaving Myrtle Beach, SC headed to Elizabeth City, NC

May 19-21, 2014
Just before we left Cypress Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC we were able to get a picture of the swing bridge open.
The whole bridge rotates right to left.  This bridge opens for all sail boats and any tall fishing boats or yachts.

We had to have some work done on our generator before we could head to our next destination of Elizabeth City, NC.  We went to Cummins Atlantic in Loris, SC.  They were wonderful and very gracious. They worked us in on MondayThey had to pull the generator out of the coach to do the work.  We ended up spending the night in their parking lot.  They had 50 amp electricity.
They offered water and dump facilities if we needed it.  We did not.  We finally got to leave about 3:45 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Here we are crossing one of the several rivers (part of the Albemarle Sound) near Elizabeth City, NC.

We arrived at the campground too early to check-in without an extra charge for early check-in.  So we parked the coach to the side and unhooked our Jeep.  We drove into Elizabeth City and spent the afternoon visiting with Tic's Aunt Maja.  She is 87 and still lives on her own.  She and I together fixed a great lunch.  We stayed till about 4 pm
This is Maja's little dog Jetty.
This is Aunt Maja's view from her east window.  This is taken thru a window screen.  She has another east window in her bedroom and greatly enjoys the morning sun!
We are now parked at North River Campground in Shawboro, NC a little east of Elizabeth City, NC.  See our home across the pond?

This picture does not show the glory we actually saw.  The sun was shining brightly from behind the darker cloud.  It was awesome to see.  This was what we saw shortly after we parked.
Here are some small cabins that can be rented here.
We met the people that live full-time in this house.  They downsized and live here now.
The house above is just across the road from our camp sight.
Two days in a row, close to the entrance of the campground, we saw this wild turkey.
Saturday the campground owner ran a small train he'd created, giving the children here rides around the campground.
Can you believe one of the children is actually playing with an electronic device??
The train from the end.  The train ran for about an hour stopping and letting children off and on as they desired.  The train ran again later in the day.
