Sites near North River Campground, Shawboro, NC

May 24-29

As we drove around the area, below are a few places & things we came across.
As we were driving thru Elizabeth City, NC the draw bridge opened for a sail boat to pass thru.
We came upon this little shed/barn with Santa Claus stuck in the chimney hiney up.  We were on a fairly busy road.  We cracked up laughing.
This is the old Shiloh High School converted into a gas station/restaurant. Interesting structure.
Just a short distance from our camp we found this 4H Camp at the end of a road we were following.
We walked out on a short pier with a swimming platform.  This is the view up river.
This is the view straight across from the dock.
This is the view down river from the dock.
Just a little down the river there were benches set in a circle around a fire pit.  We have really enjoyed our relaxing stay at North River Campground.  We stayed 8 days.  2 days were spent visiting with Tic's Aunt Maja and her son Paul.  We will be leaving tomorrow morning.
