Monday, July 2, 2018 - Part 1
Today we planned to take it easy and make it a short exploration day. It did not turn out that way, so I'm breaking this day into 2 posts. This first part will be around the Blue Mesa Reservoir.
Above and below are taken from the opposite side of the reservoir that our RV park is on. Above you can see the park and below is looking eastward.
There are many day use and campground areas along the Gunnison River. Above and below are from Wilson's Landing just before the Blue Mesa Reservoir. In the mornings there are lots of fly-fishermen. Apparently this is the area for fly-fishing.
This is one of 3 bridges that crosses Blue Mesa Reservoir on Hwy 50.
Above and the next 2 pictures below are from a pullout area near the bridge pictured above.
Wow this is a huge reservoir and so beautiful!
The following pictures are all taken from Pioneer Point just north of the reservoir.
Such stunning views everywhere we look!!!
There were 3 different overlooks at this one stop. Here Dusty stopped at the first one. I'm still not walking a lot. Tic has gone on down to the 2nd overlook.
This is the rock wall just below where Dusty is standing in the picture above.
This is the lookout point where Tic looked up to where Dusty was standing.
Tic took this from the 3rd lookout point. WOW!!!
The clouds started building and Tic got this fantastic black and white picture of the clouds.
