Christmas Mountain Village and Circus World in Baraboo, WI

Sunday, Aug 3

Today we left Omro heading to Christmas Mountain Village RV Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
The GPS had us take lots of back roads.  We happened on a crop of sunflowers.
I took both the above pictures from inside the coach.

We drove thru a little town named Princeton, WI.  At the only stop light in town we had a surprise.
This pretty little waterfall was right there.  Again this was taken from inside the coach before the light turned green.

We arrived and were parked at Christmas Mountain Village about noon.  See we are even flying our Texas flag also now.   This campground is part of the Coast to Coast system and one of the nicest we have stopped at.  There is a golf course, 3 swimming pools, a hot tub as big as some swimming pools, putt putt, a large game room with a pool table, foosball, pinball machines, ping pong and more.  This is a great place for families with children of all ages. All RV sites are asphalt with full hookups.
Let me introduce everyone to Yoopi pronounced "you pee".  We thank everyone for all their wonderful suggestions on names for our beaver.  Since we bought him in the upper peninsula of Michigan and the people on the upper peninsula are called Yoopers,(pronounced "you pers"), hense Yoopi.

Monday, Aug 6
Today has a possibility of rain so we decided to go to Circus World in Baraboo, WI.
 It was fun and interesting.  We started with a magic show.  It was pretty good.  The room was dark except for the stage so no pictures.

Next we went into a huge warehouse FULL of all kinds of circus wagons.
There were lots of ornate wagons used only in parades. I'm including a few.  The one above and the 2 below were near the entrance.

 The next several pictures are a few of the working kinds of wagons.
These are just a couple more of the parade wagons.  There were lots of elaborate wagons.

There was even an old time carousel.

Next we went to the Big Top.
This was the opening parade.
  This young man had great balance.  He is on an extra tall unicycle.
This is 5 unicycle tires one on top of the other.  The pedals at the top actually turned each of the wheels.
The show was complete with miniature horses;
dog tricks;
 aerial acts;
an exceptional balancing act; and not shown were the elephants.  It started raining during the big top.  It turned to a soft & light rain just as the Big Top show was over.
And a circus would not be complete without a gorilla.  This is Gargantuas.

We ended the circus tour with a view of Al Ringling's mansion.  We did not tour it.  After this we ate true Mexican food at a Baraboo restaurant.  It was wonderful.  We have been missing good Mexican food.
