Today we are leaving beautiful Lake Shetek State Park in southwest Minnesota headed to Sheldon, IA. Tic's brother lives 8 miles away in Boyden, IA. This is as close as we can get. We are at the Sheldon City Park called Hills Recreation Area.
We are parked on an end site again, which gives us the feeling of a large yard. We have 50amp and water, but no sewer. We plan to stay a week. We can make it no problem as long as we are frugal with the water. The biggest problem with this park is the railroad track is just outside the fence. You can see the track in this picture. The train ran through at 1am, 7:15am and 8:15am so far today. It is now noon.
The local trees are just starting to change colors. I'm told most will be yellow.
There is a nice playground here for the kids. Several families came here Sunday afternoon for the kids to play. Fun to watch!
There is even a nice covered pavilion if you choose to picnic in bad or hot weather.
There are more covered pavilions around. Also the brick arch you see is the entrance to some hiking trails.
One of the reasons we plan to stay a week is to get a couple of repairs done.
Monday morning. Time to get started.
Well, Tic is working on the leveling jack. It seems to be a little loose and angling outward. He and his brother are determining how to fix that issue. Well they got the adjustment made and everything put back together.
We spent the afternoon at Darrell & Lila's (Tic's brother & sister-in-law). She has been feeding us the big meal of the day at "dinner" or lunch to us. She is a great cook!
This beautiful tree is near Darrell & Lila's house. We enjoy the leaves changing color.
Lila loves dogs. This is a front stoop where the door is not used. This lets people know to go to the other door. Isn't it cute!?
