Los Alamos/White Rock, NM Arrival and Opera

Wednesday, Sept 17

We arrived in White Rock, NM about 2pmWe found the visitor center and RV park and got set up. This place cost us $20/nite with only electricity; however, water and dump were available.  We planned to be here at least 2 weeks.  Our daughter and her husband bought a house down the hill from Los Alamos in a suburb called White Rock.  We planned to help them get moved and stay long enough to see the boys.  They have the boys every other weekend.
We stayed in this spot for about 12 days.  Then we needed to dump and get more water.  We moved spots just a little closer to the hillside.

This rock formation was just outside the front of the coach after our move.  I thought it looked a lot like a chipmunk.

Below are a few pictures of sunrises, sunsets and clouds we saw from our parking spot.

This morning Tic tested black & white.  Great picture.

We saw lots of gorgeous skies!

The first 12 days we worked hard helping finish packing the old house, moving everything to the new house, and unpacking at the new house.Tic also took the time to build them a grey-hoverman antenna. They stopped cable several months ago. Now, with this antenna, they get over-the-air TV.
This is the antenna mounted on the house.  Tic set it up so the cable goes to the master bedroom, the upstairs living area and the downstairs living area.  They were VERY pleased!

We would go to the new house early in the mornings.  One day Tic needed to go back to the coach to get some tools and he saw an antique car show at the visitors center.

The first Saturday we all stopped the moving process early that afternoon and cleaned up and went to "The Opera on the Rocks" in Bandelier National Park.

Here the park ranger is kicking off this 3rd annual event.
This is all but one of the cast.  The last cast member is below.
This character played a statue in the garden.

This was our first opera ever.  It was sung in Italian.  They did hand out descriptions of what each person was singing about. This was a story about a gigolo that prides himself in the number of women he can "have".  There is also a man in love with one of the gigolo's conquests, but she will not agree to marry him. The following pictures are of the opera.

 This is the gigolo's servant.
The guy on the right is the gigolo and the woman on the left is the one that won't marry the other man.
Here is the man that wants to marry this woman.  They don't look too happy do they?
This is another conquest.
Here are the three of the them at a party the gigolo is having.
Here is the gigolo and his servant.  The opera in the park was an interesting experience.  Now we can cross that off our bucket list.
