Travels to and from Albuquerque, NM

Monday, September 29

Wow we have been busy helping with the move and unpacking at the new house.  Today is the first day that both Jessica and James have to be at work.  We need new front tires on the coach so we made arrangements to get them in Albuquerque today.

Just to put things in perspective, we learned Friday evening about 5:30pm that our credit card number had been stolen.  The credit card company called us and immediately cancelled the old card and requested a new card for us.  However because it was a weekend the new card would not arrive until late Monday or Tuesday.  Luckily we had another option, so off we went to get our new tires.

This is the view heading down the mountain from Los Alamos towards Albuquerque.

It was an 1.5 hr drive to Albuquerque.  Then it took a good part of the day to get the new tires mounted balanced and the front-end aligned.  It rained off and on most of the day also. Since we did not have any outdoor activities planned, it was all good.

On the way home we saw a beautiful rainbow.  The 2 pictures below doesn't do it justice.

From Albuquerque we drive through Santa Fe to get to Los Alamos.  Santa Fe uniquely  decorates some of their bridges and some of the retaining walls.  See the seven pictures below.

We passed under the 6 bridges above going through Santa Fe on the way back to Los Alamos.

We stopped at Camel Rock National Monument just outside of Santa Fe.

It was a good day.  We learned that the boys were not coming until this coming weekend so we decided to extend our stay.
