Today we are taking Rux hiking. First we went to Canyon Rim Trail in Los Alamos.
This is the canyon we looked into. The hike is nothing special. It is really a simple walking/biking trail. We were looking for something different to do with Rux.
Rux loves bridges so was excited we would be going on one.
What a trooper. He has probably walked 1 mile by now.
We saw several lizards, but this was the best picture.
Well Rux didn't quite make it back to the Jeep. Tic carried him that last little bit.
On to our next adventure. Overlook Park in White Rock, a subdivision of Los Alamos.
From this point, we are looking up a canyon and can see a small waterfall. Below is a closeup of the waterfall.
From the Overlook platform we have awesome views. The above is looking down the Rio Grande river. Below are views all around.
Tic and Rux taking in the views.
here we are looking up river. On a clear day you can see forever!
Time to go home for lunch and a nap. Nana Dusty and Papa Tic both want to rest also.
After Rux's nap, we took off for Rocket Park, one of Rux's favorite parks.
At 2 1/2 yrs old Rux is a dare devil. He loves to climb or take the steps up to this tall windy slide.
Then he comes down on his stomach. He tried it on his butt once, but twisted around so much it scared him.
Even Papa Tic got in on the fun!!
This day was just his 2nd or 3rd time to climb this route. It made me nervous, so I was right there with him.
Wow it has been a fun packed day. Nana Dusty & Papa Tic are especially tired. We will be heading for our bed early this evening.
