Back in Weatherford, TX

October 17 through November 18

Well everyone has been wondering if we fell off the earth.  Nothing exciting happening so I had not posted.  Below is the story of what has been happening.

We left Van Horn, TX on Friday, Oct 17 and went to Midland, TX.  We spent one night at Midland RV Park.  It was very full and a reservation held with a credit card was necessary.  The oil business is booming in Midland area right now and the parks are full of oil field workers.  We did not take any pictures at this park.  We spent the afternoon and evening with my 2nd Mom (step-mother).  She is a wonderful woman.  Had a great visit.
On the drive from Van Horn to Midland, I was driving, Tic took a picture of the rear view mirror that showed the shadow of our coach & the Jeep in tow.  Fun what we find interesting.

Saturday, Oct 18 we left Midland and went to Carlsbad, TX where our storage container is.  We unloaded stuff we had with us we decided we did not need and picked up only 2 items out of storage.  For our first 6 mos out full-timing it, we did pretty good.  We went to my brothers ranch about an hour away that evening and visited till about 8pm and got back to our coach about 9pm Saturday night. I did not take any pictures here either.  This is basically why I have not posted.

Sunday, Oct 19 we decided to head to Weatherford, TX where we planned to stay and take care of all our annual doctors visits.  We saw our eye doctors, dermatologist, and dentist.  I saw my female doctor and Tic sees his regular doctor on Nov 17.

We have been back to our regular church and enjoyed seeing our friends and the pastors.  We have taken care of fixing several little things on the coach.  Also our house in Weatherford has not sold yet.  We took care of a few little things there also.  We dropped the price of our house by $20,000 hoping it will bring more people looking.  We are parked next to the house on the pad we laid and plugged into 30 amp.  Staying here all we pay for is the electric we use.  We have been using the main house like a clubhouse.  We do our laundry there, shower and use the toilet.  We have managed things well and have to go dump only once.  We will dump again on our way out of town.

Here we are parked at our house in Weatherford.  Nice wide space (hee hee).
In order to keep our agricultural exemption, we have our neighbor use our pasture for his animals.
These are some of the cows.
Here are some of the goats that also roam over here.  Sometimes we even have horses.  It has been nice to be back in the quiet country.  The clear skies with lots of stars are fun to watch.
Down the road from us some people have long horns so thought we needed to post them also.

In our travels, we were on a highway that was under construction and all gravel.  We slowed down but one oncoming pickup truck did not.  It threw rocks on the Jeep and broke the windshield in two places.  We had the windshield replaced while we were here in Weatherford.  We also decided to design a windshield protector.
We bought a camping pad like you would put under your sleeping bag.  Then we glued straps at the top and bottom.  We pull the straps to the interior of the Jeep and hook them together with bungee cords.
Here is the view from the inside of the Jeep.  It only cost us about $7 to make.  Once we hit the road again we will test it.

Well as I mentioned above, the last doctors visit will be Monday, Nov 17.  We plan to leave on Tuesday, Nov 18 and head to Brownwood state park in Brownwood, TX.  I won't be posting again until we get to Brownwood.  Happy trails to all.
