Fairview (Portland), Oregon

I am behind on my posts. Today is July 13.  I plan to catch up.  Being in an area where there is no phone, no Internet, no public library with Internet, bogs me down.

Very lazy day today.  It is close to 100 degrees so not doing much.  This morning we took a short drive to a small inlet close to our RV park.  There were not many places to pull over and get pictures.  However, there was a wide spot in the road where I could pull over and let Tic get the picture below.
It was interesting to us that these houses were built on a floating dock.  The poles you see allow the dock to float up as river water rises.  The river is down several feet due to less snow this winter and less rain this summer.  June is usually a rainy month and there has not been any rain in Portland during June.

On the way into our RV park, we notice this.  Notice the portable satellite dish on top of the ladder on top of this RV. What people will go to in order to watch TV.

The local fireworks were cancelled due to the fire danger.  We just stayed home and watched the fireworks in the sky.
We had an absolutely beautiful sunset this July 4th evening.

Today we decided we would run an errand that took us into southwest Portland.  We are parked in the northeast part of the metroplex.  As we drove through Portland, the following pictures are some of the buildings and a bridge we saw.

We even went through a tunnel 3 lanes wide.
Notice this is not a really short tunnel.  It was probably 1/2 mile long.
As we crossed one bridge we could see another unique looking bridge crossing the same river.
Portland even has its own set of twin towers.

It was interesting to see the various types of architecture in Portland.

Well that is our excitement for the day.  It has been over 100 degrees for the last 2 days and upper 90's predicted for the next several.  We will probably just stay inside the rest of the day.  We move tomorrow.
