Hood River, OR to Le Page Park, Rufus, OR

After we left the WAAAM we decided to take OR Historic Highway 30 back.  We got on OR-30 in the town of Hood River and headed east.

We ended up out in the country.

Isn't this beautiful!!

Here we are on high bluffs with amazing views.

As we are driving on these high bluffs, we suddenly saw a sign that said "view point".  We decided to go see whatever there was to see.

OMG!  We are at Rowena Crest overlooking the Columbia River.  We will eventually be down on the road you can see.

This is still the Columbia River just a little more downstream.  We are still at the same view point.

From the other side of the view point we see the road we will be taking down.  These are called the Rowena Loops.

The drive down was beautiful.  At the bottom OR-30 joined I-84.  As we headed east, we stopped at......

This beautiful building was full of the history of the development of the Columbia River Gorge.  Interesting.

It has been a long day and we are ready to go home and do some wildlife viewing.
