Today we move from Portland/Fairview RV Park to Le Page Park, which is a Corp of Engineers park. It is only about 1.5 hours east on I-84. We arrived about 11:30 am.
This is our site. There is an aluminum table behind the Jeep. It is a nice wide spot with water and 50 amp elec. No sewer hook-ups, but no street lights and beautifully dark nights. We can see sooooo many stars. No star pictures though.
This is a panoramic of the John Day River right in front of us. The bridge crosses the John Day River at the convergence with the Columbia River.
This is an view of the park and swim area.
Tic climbed up the hill just behind the RV parking sites and took both the pictures above and below.
The terrain here is very different from the "scenic" part of the Columbia River Gorge. Yet it has its own beauty.
This is looking from the marina area back at some of the cliffs and hills behind the RV camp sites.
One day these 2 large boats pulled up and docked for several days.
This was one of our pretty sunsets. Also this shows part of the windmill farm on the opposite side of the river.
We sat and watched deer most evenings. I'll put those pictures in a separate post. We did a few excursions during the 5 days we were here. I'll put each in a separate post also.
We enjoyed our stay here and would come back if we are ever in the area again.
