Blowing Rock, NC

Friday, June 29, 2016

Today we moved to Lenoir, NC.   As soon as we got set up, we took off for lunch, then on to Blowing Rock, NC to look around at this quaint little town.

This is the Visitors Center at "THE" Blowing Rock.

This plate describes the wind's effect around this rock formation. Go to www.theblowingrock.com/legend-of-the-blowing-rock/ to learn about the legend of the blowing rock.

The views were amazing here.  Isabel said she had never seen mountains covered so thick with trees.

Isabel and I are on the lower path under the "Blowing Rock".

Tic is sitting on the Blowing Rock.

My turn from the top side.

The main viewing tower from below.

This is the view from the platform shown above.

We saw some pretty flowers there also.

Just outside the gift shop was this man-made small waterfall and coy pond which flowed into another pond.

This turtle was in the other pond.  He was stretching his left rear leg.  He stayed like that for a while.

It was an interesting place to see.  Now back home to fix dinner.
