Edgar, WI & Miscellaneous

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Today we leave Oconto, WI and go to Captains Cove Campground near Gresham, WI.  This is only a one night stop on the way to Edgar, WI where we plan to visit friends.

This was our site at Captains Cove.  It was VERY tight, no sewer and only 30 amp.  Now in all fairness, we picked the site.  There were a couple of others available that had sewer and 50 amp, but down in the trees and no TV or cell reception.  Since it was only one night we chose this.  The people around us were super friendly and we had a nice stay.

We left about 9:30am and headed to Edgar where our friends had space for us at their "home".  Here we are parked at their place.  They even had 50 amp for us.  They park their coach inside the building.
We arrived about 11am.  The clouds were beautiful so had to get this picture also.

She also had some pretty flowers in her flower garden. See below.

Then we all took off for the 43rd Annual North Central Wisconsin Antique Steam & Gas Engine Show complete with flea market.
On the drive to the fair, the clouds were beautiful.  I'm just posting this one picture of several Tic took.

Tic took lots of pictures of many tractors and equipment.  I'm including only the ones I found to be the most unusual and interesting.

As you can see they had all kinds of tractors, equipment and even model trains.  Just before we left this little "car" pulled in.  Tic said it was being run by a Briggs & Stratton engine.  Too cute!  [TinkerToy]

We left the fair, went back to our friends and had dinner together.  About 8:30pm we headed to our own coach and were watching TV.  I heard some strange noises.  I went outside to look around and did not see anything so just forgot about it.  The next morning, I decided it was time to clean the bugs off the windshield and front of the coach.  As I got on the ladder to clean the windshield, look what I found.
Expletives!!!  We just had the windshield replaced 28 days ago.  The above picture is from the outside and the below picture is from in the inside.  Obviously it kept shattering as we got in and out of the coach.
Our insurance company told us we would have to go back to the place that installed the windshield.  So change of plans.  Minnesota is out.  Back to Elkhart, IN we go.

We left Sunday morning and planned to go to Ottawa, IL and park at a Wal-Mart for the night.  It was supposed to be a 4.5 hour drive and because of construction and rain, it took us a little over 6 hours.  UGH!

The above 3 pictures are from the Wal-Mart parking lot.  The clearing skys made for a beautiful sunset.
          On to Elkhart, IN tomorrow.
