Tuesday evening, we had dumped our holding tanks, filled with fresh water, had washed the windshield, and then it rained. Not too long and then we had a rosy sunset.
This morning, as we headed South, we could see more of the fire results.
On down the road and the smoke is still in evidence.
Finally, reached Canada Hwy 5 and headed South, and we are out of the smoke.
This is the Thompson river. It runs alongside the highway for miles, or at least to Kamloops, BC, where three rivers come together.
Pretty evident, that a forest fire went through here in the past.
And here we are, parked in the shade on a hot day! Nice RV park. But we cannot just sit here, we need to drive to Kamloops and look for Jello! Kamloops has a Super Walmart!
Tic snapped the following pics as I drove down the highway at 100 KPH. Beautiful countryside! Good job Tic!
This valley has a number of farms raising corn, hay and alfalfa. I imagine they irrigate from the river water.
Driving into Kamloops, you see only a small part. Big city; even has a Costco. Woop woop!
After finding Jello at the Walmart, we looked for the city Riverside Park. A beautiful park, very family oriented. These murals (above and below) were on the side of the "washroom".
The photo below shows two of the three rivers that meet in Kamloops.
Beautiful sandy beaches in a beautiful setting.
Not too much of a sunset tonight, but it is setting. We have moved South and the seasons are progressing so it has started being dark at night. Makes falling asleep much easier. Another blessed day!
