Exploring near Dayton, OH

By noon on Thursday we had seen enough planes so headed to the Clifton Grist Mill.
If you look carefully you can see they are working on the water wheel.  Also in the background you can see a covered bridge they reconstructed on this site.  It does cross a river.  You can walk across it but not drive.
Here is the covered bridge.  A little history is in the next picture.

This was taken from one of the windows on the covered bridge.  Looks like a postcard to me.

The 2 pictures above are the street side of the grist mill.

They had a restaurant there and we didn't bring our lunch this day, so we ate there.  These flowers were on the table.

After lunch we went a short distance down the road to Clifton Gorge.  We hiked some trails.
We took off on this trail that looked easy.
Within a short distance, the trail was along side the Little Miami River.  The river was full & rushing.
This is a part of the trail with a small walking bridge.
From another lookout point the river was wider and rushing.  While this gorge was not as spectacular as some more well known gorges, it was pretty and an enjoyable walk.

After the gorge, we headed back to Dayton and the Wright Brothers Memorial.
The memorial in Dayton was not as impressive as the one in Kitty Hawk Outer Banks, NC.
However, we could see a runway from the back side of the Wright Memorial. See the jet taking off?.
It flew right over us.  Tic got this picture.  After this we headed home.  We leave in the morning.
