We left Homer, MI this morning and arrived at our next campsite in Harrison, MI about noon. This campground, Hidden Hills, is a nice enough campground. It is not very big and has lots of long term people. We do not have sewer but we do have electric and water. We are only staying one nite and cost is $25.20.
We did drive up a little hill. It is pretty here at the top of this hill.
The campground has a cute welcoming sign.
This is the office and bath house. The restrooms are the cleanest I've seen in a while. There were 5 toilet stalls and 5 shower stalls. There was even a small couch & coffee table with magazines inside the ladies room.
There is a great playground for kids; however, we have not seen any kids.
Here is our campsite. Nice and long. The Jeep is still attached and is off the road.
We arrived early enough to have a quick lunch and head out to explore a little. From the road we were taking out we happened to see our coach. See it?
Tic was surprised to find a state park in his namesake. We did not see any large rigs camping there.
Next we drove to Houghton Lake. It is a very large lake. Nothing like the great lakes but still large.
This was behind the local Elk's facility. When we made reservations at Houghton, we thought we were making reservations at Houghton Lake. We discovered that Houghton is on Michigan's upper peninsula about 9 hours north. So we changed our plans and are staying only one nite for the next 3 days on our way to Houghton.
Hey you two, if you can you should stop at Petoskey, MI and stay at the Magnus City Park. It is a great park sitting on Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. I see you are just SE of us now. What are your route from where you are?
ReplyDeleteHi, it is Monday late afternoon. We are in St. Ignace, MI on the upper peninsula. We are headed to Houghton for a 2 week stay.
ReplyDeleteWhere are y'all now? Unless y'all are headed north looks like we will miss y'all. Wish I had realized we were so close.
We stayed at a great place in Houghton- a city park- last year. Hope you are staying there as it is a great place to stay. Check out our blog to see where we stayed.
