Amarillo, TX

Wednesday & Thursday, May 18 & 19, 2016

We moved from Los Alamos, NM to Amarillo, TX on Wednesday.  It was overcast and misty when we left Los Alamos.  It rained on us until we got close to the Texas border.  The rained stopped but it was still overcast all the way to Amarillo.  It did warm up from 45 to 63, so that was good.

We are staying at the Oasis RV Resort.  The RV is just outside the office.  This park is just down the road from the Cadillac Ranch where the 10 Cadillacs are buried nose first in the ground. I guess that is why the RV buried nose first in the ground.

The Oasis RV Resort is a very nice RV park.  The spaces are fairly wide and level with a concrete parking pad at each site.  Each site has full hookups.  There are about 5 or 6 restroom and laundry sites throughout the park.
This is our parking site.  The Jeep is behind the coach.  The site is very long.  You can see it is overcast here also.

Because it was overcast and raining off and on, we decided to put off going to Palo Duro Canyon.  Hopefully it will be better weather tomorrow.

Well morning came and it was raining and even more overcast.  We will not go to Palo Duro Canyon today.  We went grocery shopping and to Home Depot to get supplies for projects.  There are always projects.

Later this afternoon, the clouds started to break up so we went to the Cadillac Ranch.
The above is a picture of all 10 Cadillacs.  Below is a closeup of 2 of them.  I just mopped the floor this morning, so we did not walk out to them because it was muddy after all the rain.

Now Cadillac Ranch has a RV Park. Below is a closeup of the 3 Cadillacs.

The skies started clearing resulting in a beautiful sunset this evening.

We also have a full moon tonight.

We leave in the morning headed for Chandler, OK for a one night stop on our way to Branson, MO for 2 weeks.
