Tuesday, October 18, 2016 - Part 2
Our next adventure today was Blanchard Springs Recreational Area. There are caverns, a natural springs, waterfall and Mirror Lake.
These two bridges were at the parking area for the short hike to Blanchard Springs. Cool rock bridges.
Above is Blanchard Springs flowing from inside a cave and below is a close-up of the area. Gorgeous!
Our first wildlife spotting today! A young black rat snake.

From lake level but down stream, we could see the remnants of a building. We learned it used to be a mill that ground mostly corn.
We found a trail that took us along the waters edge to the old mill.

This is the same waterfall a little closer up. Pretty scene.
I saw one bunch of these pretty purple flowers so Tic got a picture for me.
Above is a huge magnificent house we saw on our way from Blanchard Springs Recreational Area back to Golden Pond RV Park.
Below is the same house on the hillside just above a river. What a view!!
