Hummer House in Christoval, TX

Friday, June 1, 2018

Today we left Weatherford, TX and went to San Angelo State Park in San Angelo, TX.

This is our site for the next 3 nights. The sites here are so large.  We have 50 amp service, so even though it is HOT, we can run both air conditioners.

This evening we decided to go to the Hummer House in Christoval, TX.  It is a hummingbird sanctuary.
There were mostly black chinned hummingbirds here.  This is a female. The females are mostly brown. I love that you can barely see the wings because they move so fast.

This picture shows some combed cotton on the left upper part of the picture.  They put this out for the females to add to their nests.

Above and below are both sides of this beautiful painted bunting. So many vivid colors! Of course this is a male.
We also saw several cardinals.

This is a male titmouse bird. The juveniles top notch is gray and the females are all gray.

We left about 8:45pm and this was the sunset.  What a glorious way to end a day!
