Today we moved to Wendell, ID near Twin Falls, ID. We are at Intermountain RV Camp. It is a small park with only 25 sites. All are pull-thru with 30amp electric and water only. There is a dump and we were able to get the propane we needed. There are lots of tall shade trees. It meets our needs for a couple of days.
Since we arrived about 1pm, we had plenty of time to explore. The first stop was the Visitor Center in Twin Falls. To get there, we crossed a "geological site" next to the Visitor Center.
This bridge is about 1500 feet long and 480 feet above the Snake River. It was completed in 1976.
This is looking north up the Snake River. There is even a golf course on the right side of the river just to the right of the curve in the river.
There was no explanation for these statues at one of the viewing points near the bridge but I thought they were interesting.
Next we headed to Shoshone Falls by way of Dierke Lake. Before we saw the lake we saw a couple of yellow bellied marmot. Tic got a great picture.
This is Dierke Lake just up the hill from Shoshone Falls.
OMG Shoshone Falls is the most awesome waterfall we can remember seeing, other than Niagra Falls.
Can you see the rainbow? It stayed all the time we were there. It was awesome. This picture does not do it justice.
The power of the water was more than words can describe.
This is one of 3 or 4 small waterfalls we saw flowing down the rock walls as we drove down to Shoshone Falls.
Next we drove to Twin Falls. It was not near as big but it was just as strong and forceful.
On our way home, we could see this mountain with lots of snow still on it. Below is a close-up of the mountain.
I know it is a little blurry, but it was VERY far away. Amazing how much snow was on this mountain.
This area of Idaho is absolutely gorgeous! There are miles and miles of farm land with mountains all around the edges of the valley.
