Park of the Sierras near Coarsegold, CA

Thursday, May 7, 2015

This is an Escapees SKP park.  It is one of the most beautiful parks we have stayed at so far on our travels.

This is the entrance to this beautiful park.  The park is fairly secure in that you must have the security code to open the gate to enter the premises.

The original stagecoach route to Yosemite runs through this park.  Therefore, the stagecoach is their mascot.

This is their 12,000 sq ft clubhouse.  It also houses the restrooms with showers, the laundry facilities, library, kitchen, stage for entertainment and large areas with tables for games, socializing or computing.

This large stained glass piece is in the center of the front of the clubhouse.  It was made by several of the founding members here.  The history of this whole park is quite interesting.

This is our parking site.  Semi-secluded with a great patio!

This is our view out the front windshield.  Gorgeous!!

We see these quail walking around all over the place.

These bluejays are prevalent also.

Red-headed woodpeckers are also everywhere.

This park also owns 40 acres of undeveloped land.  We took a tour of the grounds and this rock formation with a creek running through it was one of the highlights.
This is more of the rocks and creek.
The way the water has worn holes in the rocks is interesting.

There are well maintained garden areas all around in this park.  This area above has some special things about it.  See below.

These are growing in the garden there.  Not sure what they are.

They created a creek running through the rocks.

There is even a little pond with a concrete painted duck.
On the back side of the stage coach pictured earlier, they have gathered remnants from settlers.  People used to mine for gold around here.  Some people in the park still do for fun.  Occasionally someone finds a nuggett of gold.
Here are some more antiques on display.

This huge burl is display on the front porch of the clubhouse.

Everyone here has been exceptionally friendly!  We are really enjoying our stay here.
