Route 66 in Williams, AZ

Thursday, April 30, 2015

Today is our last day here.  I spent most of the day catching up on my blog.  I was several days behind.  However, early this afternoon we decided to take a walk on Route 66 and get our kicks.
There are several murals and fun stores and restaurants.
This is one of the murals.  They also had the buffalo statue shown below.
It is a neat statue of a buffalo.
Our daughter is Jessica and thought seeing this restaurant was fun.  Look at the various kinds of foods served.  Interesting combination.

Off down the street.  Many interesting shops and restaurants.

This restaurant is called Crusers.

Live music too!  The musician has his back to us, at the corner.
The picture below is of a mural on the side wall.  You can see Elvis in both pictures.

This Elvis statue was just to the side of the outdoor patio of Crusers.

This is a gas station museum on the main drag.

This mural was on the side of a native Indian crafts souvenir shop.

This mural was above the entrance to a mini indoor mall.

This is a cute bed and breakfast with a bakery at street level.
Here's a close up of the floozy hanging out of the window of the Red Garter Bed & Breakfast.
Smokey the Bear is everywhere reminding us of fire safety.

As we drove out towards the edge of town, we saw this lake and dam.
This was a pretty little lake.  We saw several people fishing along the bank.  You can't see them in this picture.

Nice evening.  We headed home now so we can start to get ready to leave in the morning.
