Balboa Park in San Diego, CA Part 3 of 7

Monday, March 13, 2016 - Continued

After the Automobile Museum we walked to the Museum of Man.

We saw some of the most unusual plants all around Balboa Park.  We saw this plant on our way to the Museum of Man.

These unusual palm trees were along our way also.

Both the dome and the tower are part of the Museum of Man.

These are called Stellas from the Egyptian period.  They are replicas of the originals.  Each design on each of the Stellas has a special meaning.

There was a large Egyptian display.

Dusty found a new playmate.

Starting in this area of the museum I had a problem.  They promote evolution.  We did not take pictures in this area.

Just before we exited the Museum of Man there was a section on robots.  This is C-3PO used in the Star Wars movie.

This was a larger version of the plant we saw earlier.

Then we saw a huge one in full bloom.  We still don't know the name of this plant.

We walked about half way out over the Cabrillo Bridge.
This is the view from the middle of Cabrillo Bridge.  We are looking at highway 163 under us and downtown in the distance.

This is the view from the middle of the bridge looking back at the Museum of Man.

This is one of several pretty little gardens spread throughout Balboa Park.

This is one of several art museums in Balboa Park.

This fountain was in the middle of Balboa Park just a short distance from the Visitors Center.

We've got one more museum we want to see today; the Museum of Natural History.  It will be in Part 4 of 7.
