Unfortunately we must return to Arizona. It has been beautiful weather and we expect another beautiful day for driving home.
But to our surprise, Tuesday morning we saw................
This is Jessica's back porch! An easy 6 inches of snow and coming down pretty good.
It is amazing how thick the snow is piled on the branches of this tree in Jessica's back yard.
This is not fog it is snowing heavy. We are on the main road headed out of town. We heard that the roads between Los Alamos and Santa Fe are being cleared.
Both the pictures above and below as Tic is driving.
As we reached the divide of the road going up the main hill or going to Santa Fe. There are 3 roads heading up the big hill to Los Alamos. Jessica lives at the bottom of the main hill about 3 miles from this intersection.
The above 5 pictures were all taken before we got to Santa Fe. The snow is beautiful!!!
We are almost to Santa Fe and the streets are mostly just wet. By the time we got to the south side of Santa Fe there was not hardly any snow.
This is between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Look no snow!
Here we are headed west on I-40. It is snowing again. Crazy!
Here we are headed south of Grants.
The following 5 pictures show are taken at the Overlook looking at the mountains near the El Malpais South of Grants.
Our drive took us up and down from elevation ranging between 5200 feet in Albuquerque to 7500+ feet 3 times along the drive to Superior, AZ.
These 2 mounds in the middle of these grass fields are interesting. Why are they there????
These grasslands are really beautiful!
Here we are looking back on our travels up to "The Top of the World". I don't think we are quite to the top yet, but close.
We are back in Desert Gardens in time to see this stunning sunset. See below also.
It has been some day. We started out in freezing weather with 6 inches of snow and arrived in Desert Gardens at 72 degrees with several major elevations changes along the route. Los Alamos is 7500 ft elevation and Desert Gardens is at approx 1500 ft elevation.
