Fortuna de Oro RV Park, Yuma, AZ and Blooming Christmas Cactus

Monday, March 1, 2016

This is the first of the month and we are moving to Fortuna de Oro in Yuma, AZ for the month of March.

I woke up this day to find that my Christmas Cactus had blooms.  I am so excited since I usually kill plants.
Look at my flowers!  I'm soooo excited.

Well, it was a nearly 4 hour boring drive from Florence, AZ to Yuma, AZ.  No pictures along the way.

Here's our new home for the next month.  Not a bad site.  As you can tell there are very few trees.  One good thing is that we are parked facing north.

This is one of the two pools here.  The cabanas look nice.  There are plenty of chairs and lounge chairs.

They are decorating the Recreation Hall for some event that is happening tonight.

This is one of many beautiful Bougainvillea bushes in full bloom around the park.

There are several beautiful Oleander bushes around the park also.  It feels like spring here.

This is one of the views from the end of the street we live on.  The mountains are beautiful this evening!

These are the same mountains a little later.  They are looking more pink now.

See the bocce ball courts in the background?  To the right there are shuffle board courts and pickle ball courts.  Very nice facilities.

This little rabbit was in the grassy area close to the bocce ball courts.  Isn't he cute?

This is our only sunset picture of the evening.

One of the blooms on my cactus opened.  It is so unusual because it looks like 2 blooms in one.  See the pictures below.

I'm not sure how long it will be before the second bloom opens.  Hope it opens before the first one fades away.
