Wheeler is a cute little town. First we went to the post office.
This is the post office in Wheeler. A very unique building.
Next we walked over to the Wheeler Waterfront Park.
This is the bulk of the park. To the left of the picture is the bay.
This is Nehalem Bay where the Nehalem River flows into the bay. This is another estuary.
This is zoomed in from the same spot as the previous picture. The bridge crosses the Nehalem River upstream before it actually reaches the bay.
This is looking out over the bay towards the ocean.
This bench was near the bay for people to enjoy the view.
This is a little train station. We did not see a schedule and the tracks are VERY rusty so we are not sure if a train actually runs through town.
There are lots of pretty flowers everywhere. I'm posting lots of flower pictures. I don't know what most of them are.
Most of the flower pictures are from the flowers around the outside of the Old Wheeler Hotel. Someone has a big green thumb!
As we pulled out of a side street, I was surprised to see this stop sign....
I've never seen this kind of a stop sign.
What a quaint town! It was so relaxing to just walk through town.
