Ennis was a cute little town.
It turns out the activities in Ennis was the Madison Fly Fishing Festival. Even though fishing is not one of our interests, we walked all through main street.
We saw several large fish sculptures in town. This is the prettiest of them.
We liked this Elk. The mall was mostly gift/souvenir stores.
As we walked by the Summit cafe earlier, we noticed through the front window, tempting baked desserts on display, so we decided when we had finished our tour, we would go back there and pick out something to carry home with us. Whoa! They locked the doors at 3:00PM and we didn't return until 3:10PM. Oh well, neither of needs the extra calories.
Both the pictures above and below are of a few of the buildings in town.
This is part of the vendor displays at the fly fishing festival.
The 3 pictures below are some metal art at the front of this city park on Main Street.
As we were headed back to the Jeep, we saw the car below.
Someone is really in to dinosaurs. ☺
Below is at one end of Ennis' Main Street.
Great little town!
Because the rain clouds had mostly cleared and the sun was shining, we made several stops along the Madison River and the grassy fields on our way back to West Yellowstone.
Can you find the blue boat in the river?
We saw many boats floating down the river, with people fishing. We assume they were fly fishing.
The striations on this rock caught Tic's eye.
See the man fly fishing in the middle of the river?
That water is COLD. He must be a die-hard fisherman.
After we got back home, this is the view from our site. What a beautiful ending to the day!
