Today we move from Pocatello, ID to Jordanelle State Park, UT.
To our
surprise, shortly after leaving Pocatello the land flattened out and we
saw lots of huge wheat and hay fields. We did not see any fields of what
we thought would be potatoes. Where are the potatoes???
Shortly before the Utah border, we began to get into the foothills.
More beautiful hills. Each area seems to have its own beauty!
We are officially in Utah now.
The remainder of the drive was steep uphill and downhill. Anywhere from 5% to 7% grades. We arrived at Jordanelle State Park about 2pm.
We have a beautiful pull-thru site with 50amp and water. We dumped as we arrived. We had lunch and got set up. It took us a while to level, 3 tries, before we got it right. The parking pad slants on each side making it hard to place the blocks under the jacks. Once we figured out what we needed to do, the rest was easy.
We drove around the campground and to the lake. It is huge. You can hardly tell, but that is the dam that forms the lake.
Here's another part of the lake. See the boat in the background? See below.
Tic zoomed in on the boat. Looks fair sized. That give some perspective as to the size of the lake.
This fence is at the upper back of the site. Tic is an amateur photographer. I really like this perspective.
Look at all the color from the changing leaves. We look at this hillside out our front window.
This is looking down the hill from our site. It is really beautiful here.
This is the only ski hill we can see from our site. However there must be at least 6 maybe 8 different ski hills in the area.
This is our first sunset here. The sun is just behind the mountains, but with low humidity and no clouds it is not as spectacular. However, the night sky was totally black and we could see a million stars!
