On to the Tetons today. We figured a loop route starting in Montana, where we are parked. Then through Yellowstone in Wyoming. Through the Grand Teton National Park and West into Idaho before we head North back to West Yellowstone in Montana. About 270 miles in one day, but what beautiful views.
Our first look at the Grand Tetons.
This picture and the next 2 are from Leeks Marina on Jackson Lake.
A little further down the road we came to Jackson Lake Dam.
The dam is across the Snake River.
There were 4 gates open on the dam.
Here's our view of Jackson Lake from the dam. There is an island in the middle named Donoho Pt.
We saw this drive called Signal Mountain Rd so decided to take it.
We drove up to 7727 ft. You can see the Snake River. What a view!
This is the view looking the opposite direction. WOW!
The top of Signal Mountain.
Also top of Signal Mountain.
The next four pictures are of the Tetons as we are headed south out of the park.
This panoramic is of the Tetons from Jackson.
This beautiful sculpture was at the entrance to the National Museum of Wildlife Art. We did not take the time to stop. We still had a long way to go to get home.
The next 3 pictures are our views in Idaho during our drive home.
We had a 10% grade climb up Teton Pass (8431 ft elevation) just past Wilson, WY.
Look at all the switchbacks on the way up. We were glad we were not in the coach.
Further north we saw huge hay fields. So beautiful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our drive today. We have had 3 very full days. Tomorrow we move to Pocatello, ID. There is a State Fair in Blackfoot, ID. Got to go!
