2015 Good Friday Sunset & Saturday Blood Moon

Friday, April 3, 2015

As we were walking through our park we saw a lady painting the side of her shed.
Really talented person.  It is hard to tell here but the painting is of Indian dwellings and their crops. There are actually Indians working in the crops and in the foreground.

There is a gorgeous sunset this evening.  I'm going to have to put several pictures of the sunset in this post.
I'm showing the pictures in the order in which they were taken.  Isn't this awesome!!!!
The clouds kept changing and I kept making Tic take more pictures. We were taking these pictures from the entrance of the park.
As we turned eastward to head back to the coach we could see the moon.  It looks to be full.  The Blood Moon is supposed to be in the wee hours of tomorrow.
I had to have another picture.  The sun is getting really low and the sky is vibrant red.  This picture does not do the view justice.
Here is another picture of the full moon from the far east side of the park.  Skies should be clear for the Blood Moon in the morning.
I really like this picture of the sunset through this tree.

I set the alarm to get us up at 4:45 am since the eclipse was to be complete by 5am.
This is the first picture Tic got.  Not bad for being hand held.  It was really red-orange.

I downloaded this from the internet.  Even though this picture is sharper, the colors are about the same.
Tic took this picture at full eclipse.  We were both surprised that our camera would take this picture with hardly any light.
Here the eclipse is waning.
Waning even more and looking reddish-orange again.
There was a breeze and it was about 63 degrees.  We decided we had seen enough and went back to bed.  I was really glad I got to see this special event!
