We were out walking around the park again and learned there is a Birding Festival going on here now. We went to the area where the festival was. They had some big tents set up. We went in to see what we could see.
We saw the following 3 owls that are all alive.
This is a screech owl. It is full crown and only about 7" tall.
This is a barn owl.
And a Great Horned Owl. These are the largest owls in Arizona.
We also learned that this bird we saw yesterday is not a ferruginous hawk. It is an American Kestrel, one of the smallest hawks there are. This is a male and is probably about 9" tall.
