Drive from Casa Grande to Camp Verde AZ

Today we left the Escapees SKP Co-op at Casa Grande and traveled to Camp Verde RV Park a little North & West of Camp Verde, AZ.  Before we got 5 miles away we got stopped at a train crossing.

We waited and waited and no train.  Finally a railroad pickup truck passed by on the tracks.  After it got a ways down the road the crossing arms lifted. Crazy!!

The drive took us through a mountain range.  It was gorgeous.

This was one steep downhill then up hill again.

As we rounded one curve, we could see this large valley below.  We were not close to our destination.  Please forgive the bug splatter showing in the sky.  The bugs have been plentiful since we got to Casa Grande and on our way to Camp Verde.

Another steep 6% grade down with another pretty valley ahead.  It was a pretty drive!

We arrived at our campground about 12:30pm.

It is about 5:30pm when this picture was taken.  We are blessed to have a spot that will be shady in the afternoons.

Here is a view of one area of the park.  The RVs in the back are near a creek that runs through the park.

There is a large pool here, however it is not heated.  The water felt VERY cold to my hands, so I doubt I will be using the pool.

This is the inside of the club house.  The other end of the room has several tables with chairs set up.  It is open to anyone to use.

There were some rose bushes just outside the clubhouse.  Aren't they beautiful?!

This rose is a beautifully rich red.  The picture does not do it justice.
