Ainsworth Hot Springs in Ainsworth, BC

Thursday, June 1, 2017

It has been raining most of the night and is predicted to rain most of the day.  So we decided that this morning we would go to the laundry mat.  After we finished laundry and since we have not had either cell service nor Internet for a couple of days, we would go to the library so I could catch up on the blog.  I got the blog posted through May 31.

The only other thing I wanted to do in this area was to go to Ainsworth Hot Springs.  So after we finished at the library, we headed to the Hot Springs.

The hot springs start at the Cody Caves flowing underground until they come out at Ainsworth. The waters enter their system at about 117 degrees F.

This is the big pool where the water is cooled between 97-100 degrees F.  It is called the lounging pool.

This small pool continues through the squared archways you can see.  They have these caves lit with soft lights.  The water just outside the caves is about 104 degrees F, but in the back of the caves the water gets to 110 degrees F. We both walked through the caves, but it was too hot for me.  I sat in the area where it was only 104-105 degrees F.

It started raining as we got out of the pools.  We rinsed off dressed and it was still pouring rain.  We decided to eat at the restaurant.  This was our table.  I took Tic out of the picture because he was more like a silhouette.  We had a great view of the river.

The rain storm moved by and this is what we could see from our table.  We both ordered a bison burger.  It turned out to be a huge 1/2 pounder.  Believe it or not we both ate all of our burgers.  WOW we were full!

What a wonderful way to end the day!  Feeling very blessed!!
