Our next adventure today was driving up Mount Revelstoke in the National Park. 2017 is the 150th Anniversary of the Canadian National Parks so all National Parks in Canada have free admission. We have used it several times.
These bridges are over the Columbia River, the very same one that flows to the Pacific Ocean in Oregon.
I thought this info about the forests and meadows was very interesting. This park has the only non-coastal cedar-hemlock rain forest in the world. Next is snow forest as you climb higher, and finally no forest as you climb above the tree line to the wildflower meadows.
This is Mount Mackenzie taken from Mount Revelstoke. Mount Mackenzie is the ski area in Revelstoke.
Next we drove to the Revelstoke Ski Resort which is on Mount Mackenzie. It has the greatest vertical drop of any ski area in North America.
We were able to take a gondola ride half way up the mountain and ride "The Pipe" down. Tic went first.
WOW what a rush!! We could have ridden this several times if it wasn't for the cost.
We had a fun filled day! We know we are so blessed to be able to travel as we do. To God be the glory.
