OMG today was a fun filled day. As part of our drive in moving from Nakusp to Revelstoke, BC we had to take a ferry (Part 1). After getting to Revelstoke, we went to a car show (Part 2). Then we drove through Mount Revelstoke National Park (Part3). There are so many pictures that I decided I would break this day into 3 separate blog posts.
So here's our ferry ride. All inland ferries in BC are free. We were told that when BC Hydro dammed a lot of the rivers to generate electricity that it flooded many of the roads. So BC Hydro provides and maintains ferries at the road crossings that got flooded.
Here we are at the staging area. We found out that the ferry leaves the Galena Bay side every hour on the half hour. So we planned to get there just after the half hour so we would be close to the front of the line.
We met our goal and were at the head of the line. We had to wait about 45 minutes so I walked around taking pictures.
This is looking north. Every day we are seeing stunning views! Below is looking southward.
Our first glimpse of the ferry coming.
Almost here.
The ferry is loaded and underway now. We are in the middle lane towing the Jeep. There is no one behind us. That means we will be last to unload. That is fine with us then we won't feel pushed by people behind us.
This is a panorama I took from the ferry. WOW!
Our ride is almost over. I took a whole lot more pictures but am sparing everyone. I really enjoyed the ferry ride!
Next blog post will be about Revelstoke BC.
