Toad River RV Park and to Muncho Lake

Friday, June 16, 2017

Let's go back.  Last night the sun came out for a little while. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the sun.  Some other RVers came by and took our picture for us.
As you can see, we had a very nice site at this park.

It rain most of the night, but stopped about 7am.  We pulled out headed to Toad River RV Park about 8:50am.

We drove through some interesting looking mountains in the central Canadian Rockies.

It was slightly overcast when we left.  Now you can see we are headed into more rain.  We have had more rain than not for the last 10 days.

As the rain got closer, we were driving along side the Tetsa River.

By the time we got to Toad River RV Park the sun was out. It was wonderful to get to enjoy the sun!

We have a really fantastic site.  We are parked at the edge of a small lake.  Very peaceful!
Above and below are the lake as we see it just behind our RV.  We are looking forward to sitting out this evening.

After we ate lunch we decided to head to Muncho Lake.  We read it is a must see.

Muncho Lake is about 30 miles on down the road.  It was a beautiful drive.

To our surprise we saw these 2 moose cows grazing at a mud hole.

This is our first view of Muncho Lake.  It is very overcast, but you can tell the lake is glacier green.  Look at the gray looking mountains in the distance. Gorgeous view!!

Along side the road right next to Muncho Lake was this small group of Stone sheep.  We read they are licking the natural minerals in the stone in this area.

These gray mountains have very interesting formations.

Above shows the green color of Muncho Lake a little better. Below shows the difference with the sun shining on part of the lake.

On the way back to Toad River, we saw these stone sheep bucks.

Gosh we feel so blessed to be seeing so much beauty!

WOW! This big bull moose was at the same spot we had seen the cows just a little bit ago. Notice the antlers are still in velvet.  Truly awesome!

There was a pullout to view the Toad River as seen below.  However when you turn 180 degrees you see the waterfall above.

We are back at the Toad River RV Park.  The sun is out again.  I'm walking around and find this little greenhouse. The plants look like they are doing fantastic.

We learned the beavers built this dam about 2 years ago.  We did see the beaver swimming towards the dam, but could not get the camera fast enough to get a picture.

There were a lot of these kinds of wood ducks. They look different than the wood ducks I've seen in the US.

Tic got this cool picture as the sun was getting lower in the sky.

This was 10pm at night and the sun was not down yet.  Days are getting very long the farther north we get.
