Today is move day. We have been very close to the Chelan fire with the air designated as unsafe. We could see ash all over the Jeep. We are headed to Cheney just 7 miles outside Spokane. There is a fire somewhere in Spokane County. We heard on the news the air was just as bad in Spokane as where we are. Guess we just have to wait and see.
There are lots of electrical generating dams along the Columbia River. Here is the Rock Island Dam. It was the first dam to span the Columbia River.
It is interesting to us how the orchards go right up to the hills.
This is a huge orchard. See the stacked boxes. They will all be filled with fruit from the closest trees. We saw a man rolling a box to move it. It appeared to have been a cube about 4 feet to a side. Big crates!
These red boxes are for more fruit. See the truck loaded with boxes driving between the trees?
More boxes, more trees. Amazing! At least the smoke doesn't look any worse here.
OMG! We were about half way to Cheney and the smoke has gotten really thick. Shortly after this the wind started blowing more.
By the time we got to Cheney, we could actually see blue sky. The first blue sky in days.
Here's our new home at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort. See the blue sky.
This park has lots of activities. After dinner we decided to go play miniature golf. It was really strange. There were 3 cups per hole???? There was a pretty waterfall.
Here is another strange hole.
We were not sure if we liked this course or not. It was really strange.
It's been a long day. We did drive 3.5 hrs today. That is a long day for us. Good night to all.
