Peshastin Pinnacles State Park near Wenatchee, WA

Monday, August 17, 2015

Today we decided that even though it was very smokey we would drive to the Peshastin Pinnacles.  What we read on the internet said this park is used by rock climbers.  We thought we would go see the pinnacles and see if we happen to see any rock climbers.

First we had to go into E. Wenastchee to get gas for the Jeep.
From the gas station, we could see this bridge that crossed the Wenatchee River.

Tic captured this picture on the way to Peshastin Pinnacles. The smoke seemed slightly lighter here.

This is a small park.  There were 2 other cars already there, so we hoped to see climbers.

This is the path from the parking area up to the Pinnacles.

The following pictures are of the Pinnacles.

The last picture in this post shows a person coming down the rock side at the very top of the hill.

We thought this one looked like a face.  The hole is the eye.  See the fat lips and the bushy eyebrow? ☺

Finally we saw two people coming down the rock.  By the time Tic was able to get the camera ready, one of the climbers was already down.  Here is the other one.

On our way home, we stopped at one of the many fruit stands in the area.  There are lots of fresh apples, peaches, nectarines, plums, tomatoes, corn etc.  We bought peaches, plums, nectarines, blackberries, and raspberries.  I baked a cobbler of peaches, blackberries and raspberries.   It smelled so good that we got into it immediately.  Sorry no picture.   It was delicious! ☺
