This post will be a look at our activities during the week, so it will probably be a little longer post.
All the pictures above show us enjoying the kayaks and canoe the first full day at Ten Mile Lake.
This is the original Coast Guard Quarters at the Umpqua River lighthouse. It is now a museum.
This toilet was on display in this house. More like a RV toilet.
Perhaps used on a coast guard vessel?
Next we decided to go check out the sand dunes.
The sand was really hot. It was difficult walking in the soft loose sand. James' shoes got full of sand so he stopped to dump the sand.
Tic got this panoramic from the top of the first dune.
It was also very windy and sand was blowing everywhere. We decided to leave the dunes and head to Coos Bay.
As we crossed Coos Bay, we saw this draw bridge for trains was open. Cool!
This was the moon rise on Tuesday, as Tic and I were headed to our home from the Privette's rental house.
Wednesday the Privettes rented a pontoon boat from the marina practically next door via water.
The boat did not have a bimini so we tried to put an umbrella from the porch on it. If it was open, the wind would blow it over, so we had to leave it closed. All 7 of us tried to ride it at one time, but we were too heavy. Several got off, but I took the first ride.
Later while sitting on the boat house porch we saw this man towing what looked like an outhouse. It may have been for ice fishing?
It was a bright sunny day so Maggie had to wear her sunglasses also.
James decided to try fishing. This was his first catch. Later in the evening, James was able to catch some decent size catfish. I did not get pictures and the fish were thrown back.
A couple of hours later the same man was hauling another "outhouse". Not sure what these actually were, but it was a funny sight.
Our last full day, we decided to check out the beach and possible go play in the ocean.
Unfortunately the wind was pretty cool and the water felt icy. We did not stay long.
We did get a family picture on our last day together. It is sad that I look more pregnant than our daughter who is 13 weeks pregnant. We are all excited about the coming addition to the family.
Just as we were leaving the Privette's house, the moon was rising over the hillside.
Between our house and the Privette's house, we stopped and got this gorgeous sunset picture.
After we got home, Tic set up the tripod and got this awesome picture of the moon. What a beautiful ending to a fun day!
Both the Privettes and us will be leaving in the morning. What a fun week!!!
